Atsuko Asano's dystopian novel No.6 will soon become a musical in November 2024.
After successful adaptations into manga and anime, Atsuko Asano’s dystopian novel No.6 will be adapted into a musical in November 2024. The story has already garnered many fans through its previous versions, which debuted in 2011.
Set in the city of No.6—a place that symbolizes perfection and harmony—the story follows Shion, a young boy from the elite class. His life changes dramatically when he saves Nezumi, a mysterious fugitive from the city’s lower depths. This meeting sets Shion on a journey to uncover the dark secrets hidden behind the idyllic facade of No.6.
For this musical adaptation, Sayaka Asai will take on the roles of director, playwright, and composer, while Satomi Toma will handle staging and choreography. Hikaru Imamaki and Kazuki Furuta will star as Shion and Nezumi, respectively.
The musical No.6 will be performed at the Tennozu Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo from November 8 to 17 2024, followed by performances at the Umeda Arts Theater in Osaka from November 22 to 24, 2024.
