After the kabuki version of Kaze no Tani no Naushika (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind), a new Ghibli movie will be adapted on stage: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away). Directed by the internationally renowned John Caird, the stage play will run in February and March 2022 at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo, in April 2022 in Osaka, in May 2022 in Fukuoka, in June 2022 in Hokkaido and in June and July 2022 in Aichi.
The main lead, Chihiro will be played by Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi (double cast).
